Walter Stephen Geeding comes from a family of law-enforcement professionals. His father – FBI; his great-grandfather - City Marshall in the little town of Lanagan in McDonald County; his nephew - was a detective in Newton County, MO and now an instructor of criminology at MSSU; and between 1999 and 2006 he served McDonald County, Missouri as the Elected Prosecutor. In 2007 he opened his solo law firm, W. Stephen Geeding, Attorney at Law, LLC. Steve has gained extensive knowledge in civil law with heavy emphasis on family law.
Steve was born in Washington D.C., but raised in Newton County, MO. Steve attended Missouri Southern State College and received his Juris Doctor at the University of Tulsa law school in 1996. He was president of Newton/McDonald County Bar Association in 2002. He was a member on the River shares Committee, a member on the CRP Committee, and a member of the Adult, Juvenile, and Family Drug Court. Currently, Steve is a member of The Missouri Bar, Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Missouri Family Law List Serve, a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, and lifetime member of The North America Hunting Club.
Steve has resided in McDonald County for the last 33 years with his wife Linda. Between them, they have 6 children and 14 grandchildren. In his free time he enjoys kayaking, hunting, and writing poetry and short stories.
Nancy Wolfe is our in house Paralegal and our office manager. She has worked with Steve since 2003 while at the Prosecuting Attorney’s office. Nancy handles all the accounting in the office, prepares legal documents in our civil work, and works hand in hand with civil clients. She has lived in McDonald County since 1996 and is married to Dennis Wolfe. They have a family consisting of six children, a dog, a cat, some fish, and chickens.
